Program Officer, Agriculture Innovation

Responsibilities
- Engage stakeholders in adopting and using the Agricultural Land Management (ALM) and Livestock Systems (LS) methodologies under the VCS Program.
- Develop and support project proponents’ application of ALM and LS activities.
- Support development and revision of methodologies and ensure alignment with VCS Program updates and other Verra programs.
- Respond to stakeholder questions and support development of informational resources such as FAQs and webinars.
- Present webinars and provide technical guidance on methodology use.
- Support Verra’s Regional Engagement team with country/region-specific training and support.
- Address public comments and reviewer feedback on VCS methodologies under Sectoral Scope 15: Agriculture.
- Provide technical input for the development of new ALM and LS methodologies and tools.
- Support digitization and DMRV efforts related to ALM and LS projects.
- Join a diverse team of experts working to scale up improved ALM projects.
Requirements
- At least three years of experience in GHG accounting in agriculture and livestock production systems.
- Bachelor's degree in agronomy, animal or environmental sciences, or similar; MS preferred.
- Strong understanding of soil carbon, GHG measurement, monitoring, modeling, remote sensing, and geostatistics in agricultural and livestock systems.
- Hands-on experience with carbon markets, including familiarity with mechanisms, methodologies, and market-based instruments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to engage with diverse international stakeholders with cultural sensitivity.
- Collaborative problem-solving mindset.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
