Workers Comp Injury Counselor

The role involves coordinating the workers' compensation program, including claims management, reporting, and communication with involved parties. It requires overseeing injury records, conducting ergonomic assessments, and supervising related staff.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workers' compensation claims and administration.
• Communicate with attorneys, employees, supervisors, physicians, and insurance carriers.
• Maintain injury records and manage databases like WCCMS and Risk Master.
• Conduct ergonomic assessments and improve workplace safety.
• Prepare reports for safety committees and other projects.
• Process claims payments and invoices.
• Educate managers and employees about workers' compensation.
• Refer cases to medical case management.
• Supervise Benefits Specialist and work with third-party claims supervisor.
• Stay current with industry knowledge and legal requirements.

Requirements

• High School Graduate

Additional Information

• Part-time position.
• Requires knowledge of Kansas and Missouri compensation laws.
• Experience with WCCMS and Risk Master preferred.
• Strong computer, communication, and analytical skills.
