Instacart is seeking a senior engineer to work on storage platforms, focusing on large-scale distributed database systems, automation, and infrastructure to support its core business operations. Salary: $192,000—$242,000 USD

Responsibilities

• Own and set the technical direction for Storage platforms.
• Collaborate with application engineering teams and stakeholders.
• Ship high-quality, scalable, and robust solutions.
• Drive initiatives to unlock innovations, accelerate development, and optimize storage needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer in large-scale cloud services or application development.
• 1+ years of experience delivering large-scale solutions with industry-recognized databases (preferably PostgreSQL).
• 1+ years of experience building cloud-based control-plane software.
• Self-motivated with a growth mindset.
• Strong ownership and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to ship code, review PRs, and guide code quality.
• Experience architecting systems with back-end web technologies.
• Ability to work effectively with large codebases and cross-functional teams.
• Capacity to evolve complex solutions to meet business needs.
