Senior Product Manager, Genetic Genealogy

Location: Remote (US)
Salary: $122,000 - $142,000 per year, plus bonus, equity, and benefits
Responsibilities
- Lead continuous product discovery through prototyping, customer interviews, and hypothesis validation.
- Partner with engineering and architecture to build a genetic genealogy platform, including APIs, matching logic, and front-end components.
- Write agents to combine historical and genetic data for new insights.
- Develop and articulate a vision for an integrated experience combining DNA insights with historical records.
- Surface meaningful family connections by integrating record artifacts with DNA data.
- Lead UI/UX design initiatives to create intuitive components for genetic and historical research.
- Collaborate to transform strategic vision into a scalable product considering local needs and cultural nuances.
- Work with UX research, marketing, support, and legal teams to deliver value swiftly.
- Learn from feedback and adapt strategies.
- Partner with senior engineers on platform vision and developer experience.
- Engage with content professionals and genealogists to understand Ancestry’s extensive content.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience delivering successful consumer products.
- Proven track record in developing recommendation systems at scale.
- Deep product discovery skills, including user interviews and data analysis.
- Experience building and using agentic workflows.
- Systems-thinking approach to handle complexity and ambiguity.
- Understanding of agent frameworks and experience writing agents.
- Strong collaboration skills with data science, engineering, and UX teams.
- Experience partnering with UX to build internal tools or components.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and team-building skills.
- Resilient work ethic driven by data and independent decision-making.
- Experience with experimentation and user experience instincts.
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree and background in STEM, especially genomics, are a plus.
