Regional Revenue Accounting Manager (Amer)

The Regional Accounting Manager (Revenue Accounting) at VF oversees revenue recognition activities across multiple brands and channels, ensuring compliance with US GAAP (ASC 606). The role involves technical accounting, team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and supporting financial reporting and audits.

Salary: $88,000.00–$110,000.00 USD annually

Responsibilities

• Review and assess new and modified business arrangements for revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
• Oversee revenue recognition across multiple brands, legal entities, and sales channels.
• Evaluate and approve revenue-related estimates and reserves, including returns, allowances, promotions, and chargebacks.
• Serve as the regional subject-matter expert on revenue accounting matters.
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end revenue close activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely reporting of revenue components for financial statements.
• Support SEC reporting requirements.
• Maintain and enhance internal controls related to revenue recognition.
• Act as the primary revenue accounting contact for audits.
• Identify control gaps or process inefficiencies and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, FP&A, Legal, and IT teams on revenue-impacting initiatives.
• Support pricing, contract reviews, and deal structuring.
• Communicate revenue risks and issues to leadership.
• Manage, coach, and develop a regional revenue accounting team.
• Set expectations, review work, and provide performance feedback.
• Support talent development and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related Field.
• CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in accounting, with strong knowledge of US GAAP, specifically ASC 606.
• Experience leading or contributing to month-end close, internal control compliance, and audits.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate complex accounting topics.
• Experience in consumer, retail, apparel, footwear, or multi-brand environments preferred.
• SAP experience.
• Strong technical accounting judgment and problem-solving skills.
• Highly analytical with attention to detail.
• Leadership capabilities, including talent development.
• Executive-level communication and influencing skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
