People Operations Specialist

A People Operations Specialist at Blackthorn will lead recruiting efforts and support core HR functions in a remote, distributed team environment. The role involves full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, HR systems management, and process improvement.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $95,000 - $110,000

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end recruiting process for roles across the company, from intake calls with hiring managers through offer negotiation.
• Source, screen, and manage candidate pipelines using ATS, partnering with hiring managers.
• Build and maintain a strong candidate experience.
• Track recruiting metrics and report to leadership.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Maintain employee records and HRIS data.
• Assist with benefits administration and respond to employee questions.
• Help maintain compliance with employment law.
• Identify opportunities to streamline recruiting and HR workflows.
• Partner on building scalable people processes.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in recruiting, with some HR or people operations exposure.
• Proven ability to manage full-cycle recruiting independently.
• Comfortable working with HRIS and ATS tools.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear, confident communicator.
• Comfortable operating autonomously in a remote team.
