Head Of Finance & Procurement

Mercedes-Benz.io is seeking a Head of Finance & Procurement to lead their finance and procurement operations, ensuring high-quality reporting, strategic decision support, and efficient processes.

Location: Lisbon or Braga, Portugal, or remote from Mainland Portugal

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and governance across Finance and Procurement
• Advise and partner with Managing Directors and Executive Board members on finance and procurement matters
• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, cash management, and risk management activities
• Ensure high-quality, timely statutory financial statements in compliance with local GAAP (SNC) and group consolidation requirements
• Own month-end and year-end financial closing, coordinating with shared services, outsourced accounting, and treasury partners
• Monitor financial performance by preparing and presenting monthly KPIs, insights, and recommendations to the CFO and executive leadership
• Define and oversee procurement strategies, ensuring compliant and value-driven processes across sourcing, contracting, vendor management, and cost optimization
• Maintain internal policies and ensure compliance with internal and external requirements
• Represent Finance & Procurement in strategic discussions, risk assessments, and financial governance forums
• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary Finance & Procurement team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and growth
• Be responsible for hiring, onboarding and offboarding, performance reviews, and disciplinary processes within the team

Requirements

• Hold a recognized finance certification such as CPA or equivalent
• Experience in procurement or close collaboration with procurement functions
• Experience with AI tools for predictive forecasting, reporting automation, or process optimization
• Entrepreneurial mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Experience in agile, digital product, or technology-driven environments
