Global Controller

Fleetio is hiring a Global Controller to lead and scale their accounting and financial operations organization for a growing global SaaS and payments business. The role involves overseeing end-to-end accounting functions, supporting multiple entities and international operations, and driving operational excellence and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mature the global accounting organization, supporting a larger, more complex business while maintaining accuracy, controls, and execution.
• Oversee all aspects of accounting including monthly close, financial reporting, global consolidations, internal controls, compliance, audits, tax, billing, collections, payroll, and related operations.
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting and improve efficiency and predictability of the accounting organization.
• Maintain controls, documentation, and processes for strategic transactions like financing and acquisitions.
• Lead teams with expertise in operational and accounting complexities of recurring revenue, payment settlements, reconciliation, and financial controls.
• Improve operational processes, create scalable workflows, and establish clear ownership and metrics.
• Partner with Finance Systems team to enhance workflows, automation, data quality, and AI-enabled processes.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting team, establishing priorities, operating rhythms, and accountability.
• Support multi-entity and multi-currency environments, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and strong controls.

Requirements

• CPA required.
• 7+ years of experience leading and scaling a controllership or accounting organization within a high-growth technology company.
• Experience supporting businesses with multiple revenue streams, including SaaS and payments.
• Proven success leading accounting teams across financial reporting, close, audit, controls, tax, payroll, billing, collections, and finance operations.
• Experience operating in multi-entity and multi-currency environments.
• Ability to improve scalability, efficiency, and predictability of accounting operations while maintaining controls.
• Strong executive communication skills and confidence to partner with CFO.
• Experience developing leaders and building high-performing teams.
• Comfort with leveraging systems, automation, data, and AI to improve operations.
