District Sales Manager Gulf Coast

The role is for a District Sales Manager responsible for managing sales teams and driving sales strategies in the Gulf Coast region, with a focus on the Life Sciences industry, particularly in Single Cell, Spatial Biology, and Next Gen Sequencing.

Location: Gulf Coast, region-specific, on-site

Salary: $135,200—$182,900 USD

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute and monitor the district business plan to meet revenue and strategic objectives.
• Support and motivate the district sales team to meet targets.
• Forecast, monitor, and control expenses within budgets.
• Forecast customer demand including product quantities, dollars, orders, shipments.
• Coordinate activities between departments like Marketing and Technical Support.
• Resource planning, recruitment, and hiring to support sales targets.
• Provide ongoing guidance, career counseling, and development for sales team.
• Set performance standards, conduct appraisals, and manage disciplinary actions.
• Drive accountability and a sense of urgency within the team.
• Ensure Salesforce.com (SFDC) utilization and compliance.
• Collaborate across districts and lead cross-district initiatives.
• Mentor and peer leader within the District Sales Manager team.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Life Sciences.
• Minimum 5 years of sales, marketing, or equivalent experience in the Life Science industry, including capital equipment sales.
• Minimum 3 years of sales management experience in the Life Science industry.
• Experience in hiring, building teams, managing, and motivating sales professionals.
• Skilled in developing and implementing strategic sales strategies, building key customer relationships, and leading sales teams.
