Responsibilities
- Drive strategic business expansion/collaboration opportunities with major U.S. cancer centers, clinics, KOLs, and AMCs.
- Structure detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining clients.
- Maximize client-bill contracting opportunities.
- Implement laboratory services agreements with bill account institutions.
- Collaborate with sales team to meet company goals.
- Identify and develop partnership opportunities with oncology clients.
- Promote and drive compliance with web-based molecular information tools.
- Analyze competitive landscape and provide feedback to leadership.
- Monitor sales performance to ensure objectives are met.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory.
- Work effectively across departments.
- Embody and represent Tempus culture.
Requirements
- Ability to provide integrated MolDx/SaaS solutions using Tempus’s sequencing technology.
- Engage in consultative selling, overcoming objections, connecting client needs with Tempus capabilities.
- Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO).
- Understanding of payor and reimbursement environment in oncology and diagnostics.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks.
- Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics and competitive landscape.
- Knowledge of oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, targeted agents.
- Excellent negotiation, customer service, and strategic sales skills.
- Outstanding listening, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Effective use of Salesforce.com.
- Ability to develop cross-functional relationships.
- Advanced presentation skills and business acumen.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong administrative and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrate Tempus values: integrity, respect, trust.
- Frequent travel (>50%) within the territory.

Additional Information
- Requires B.S. in life sciences, biology, business, or marketing; MBA preferred.
- 2-3 years of account management in molecular diagnostics, with proven performance.
- 3-5 years working with major cancer centers, oncology GPOs, large health systems, and oncology practices.
- Demonstrated revenue generation experience in diagnostics, pharma, or biotech.
- Salary range varies by location, e.g., California: $125,000–$155,000.
- Remote roles in Los Angeles may consider criminal history in accordance with law.
