The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) oversees and coordinates the organization's administrative, operational, and support functions, providing leadership in corporate services, human resources, facilities management, legal, and risk administration to ensure efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment.
Location: Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day administrative operations across the organization
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Ensure smooth coordination between departments and business units
- Promote operational efficiency and cost-effective management
- Lead HR strategy, workforce planning, and organizational development
- Oversee recruitment, employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning
- Foster a high-performance culture aligned with organizational goals
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and employment regulations
- Ensure adherence to corporate governance, legal, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams
- Implement internal control frameworks and monitor compliance
- Support the Board of Directors and executive leadership on governance matters
- Oversee facilities management, procurement, and administrative support services
- Ensure business continuity and crisis management readiness
- Optimize operational processes, technology adoption, and resource utilization
- Collaborate with executive leadership to implement organizational strategy
- Act as a liaison between the CEO, Board, and operational units
- Support initiatives in business transformation, digital adoption, and efficiency improvements
- Lead cross-functional projects to enhance organizational performance
- Maintain relationships with regulators, vendors, and external partners
- Ensure smooth internal communication and coordination across departments
- Represent the organization in administrative and operational matters
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
- Professional certifications in administration, HR, or project management (e.g., PMP, SHRM) are desirable
- 10–15+ years of experience in administrative, operational, or corporate management roles
- Proven experience in leading support functions in banking, financial services, insurance, or investment organizations
- Strong track record in governance, compliance, and process optimization
- Leadership and people management
- Strong organizational and operational management skills
- Knowledge of regulatory, legal, and compliance frameworks in financial services
- Process optimization, project management, and strategic planning
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
