Associate Director, Development

The ALS Association is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting ALS through research, support, care, and advocacy. This remote role based out of Houston, TX, focuses on fundraising and development to support ALS programs and services.

Salary: $60,770 - $70,385 annually
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of revenue/fundraising within defined portfolio, including developing engagement and fundraising strategies, budget management, donation tracking, logistical planning, and execution.
- Assist with implementing strategies to meet fundraising goals.
- Provide coaching and direction to Development Managers.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with key constituents and create a pipeline of donors for mid-level and major gifts.
- Provide volunteer support through meetings, contact, speaking engagements, and events.
- Grow corporate partnership initiatives including prospecting, cultivation, proposals, commitments, stewardship, and retention.
- Work with Team Captains and participants to develop fundraising plans.
- Maintain a portfolio of individual donors, prospecting, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding.
- Recruit, steward, and retain event committee chairs and members, and build relationships with community partners.
- Analyze fundraising data to forecast revenue and identify opportunities and challenges.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to execute regional marketing efforts.
- Manage fundraising platforms such as Convio, Team Raiser, Salesforce, and Greater Giving.
- Stay informed on fundraising trends, technologies, and strategies.
- Incorporate “moves management” for donor cultivation and solicitation.
- Work with staff to cultivate and solicit donors for planned and major gifts.
- Perform other duties to support mission and goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of relevant fundraising and event production experience with proven revenue achievement.
- Knowledge of Southwest communities and corporate leaders is a plus.
- Proven managerial experience and knowledge of HR practices.
- Extensive experience with CRM or donor management platforms.
- Ability to lead, organize, and participate in high-level customer service.
- Experience with peer-to-peer fundraising tools.
- Strong organizational, detail, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written, public speaking, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Salesforce, and video conferencing software.
- Experience with Quark, Illustrator, Publisher, and Photoshop is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and resolve conflicts.
- Strong relationship-building skills.
- Goal-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
