Associate Counsel

Avantor is seeking an Associate Counsel to support legal matters related to cloud technology, digital platforms, and SaaS transactions. The role involves working closely with IT, Privacy, Sourcing, and Sales teams to enable technology use across the enterprise. This is a remote position.

Salary: $107,500.00 - $173,075.00
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise agreements including routine sales, customer, supplier, distributor, clinical, service, and consulting agreements.
- Analyze draft contracts in accordance with Avantor's contracting policies.
- Advise on review of complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting efforts.
- Develop and support the creation of playbooks and templates for legal review of IT, security, and technology agreements.
- Review data processing agreements.
- Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies.
- Escalate complex legal and factual issues to senior attorneys and assist in resolution.
- Create, implement, and manage systems for contract creation, negotiation, oversight, and execution.
- Coordinate contract negotiations across departments.
- Obtain internal approvals for contract terms.
- Identify process improvement opportunities.
- Perform file management and records retention.
- Provide legal advice to senior leadership.
- Guide and assist Contracts Specialists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 - 10 years applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Experience handling multiple matters with quick turnaround deadlines.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into legal guidance.
- Excellent judgment and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Experience providing strategic legal advice.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information
- Pre-tax pay range: $107,500 - $173,075.
- Must be admitted to practice law and in good standing in at least one US State or DC.
- Must meet local legal license requirements.
