Account Executive - Higher Ed and SLED - PacNW

VAST Data is seeking an Account Executive - SLED to join their team, focusing on higher education and public sector accounts. The role involves building relationships, managing complex sales cycles, and driving revenue in a fast-growing AI infrastructure company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop business across a mix of enterprise level customers.
  • Generate revenue and work closely with Channel Partners to sell VAST Data offerings.
  • Manage the sales process to align with customer buying cycles.
  • Manage customer relationships from first meeting through proof of concept and after sale to expand VAST Data footprint.
  • Develop and present proposals demonstrating VAST solutions meet customer objectives.
  • Prospect, penetrate large accounts, reach decision-makers, and close business.

Requirements

  • 7 or more years of sales or account management experience, with a background in the SLED or Public Sector vertical.
  • Consistent track record of exceeding quota and driving referenceable business with large strategic customers.
  • History of developing selling regions from the ground up, with limited resources.
  • Passion for account expansion strategies and post-sales customer success.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Desire to drive change and evangelize new technologies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with experience in large companies and startups.
  • Ability to communicate with customers and partners at both business and technical levels.
  • Knowledge of storage industry: NFS, Object Storage, and Enterprise Computing architectures.
  • Competitive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com and Microsoft Office.
