Senior Equipment Loss Consultant
As a Senior Equipment Loss Consultant, you will independently lead complex, high value equipment loss and damage investigations for Haag’s clients. You will serve as a trusted technical authority, managing assignments from initial inspection through final expert opinion. Your work will focus on electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical equipment across multiple industries. You will prepare clear, defensible reports addressing cause of loss, extent of damage, and cost to restore equipment to pre loss condition. This includes detailed financial analysis and review of supporting records. You will also play an active role in growing regional business through strong client relationships, repeat engagements, and referrals. Salary: $120,000–$160,000/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead large and complex forensic equipment loss investigations with minimal oversight.
- Evaluate damage to industrial, commercial, and specialty equipment.
- Determine cause of loss, extent of damage, and repair or replacement scope.
- Schedule and conduct site inspections and field assessments.
- Review client provided records including invoices, budgets, schedules, and technical documentation.
- Perform financial analysis to develop damage estimates and restoration costs.
- Prepare clear, well supported expert reports for insurers, third party adjusters, attorneys, corporations, and private clients.
- Present expert opinions during client meetings, mediations, depositions, and legal proceedings.
- Maintain direct and consistent communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor and support junior consultants through technical guidance, field support, and report review.
- Participate in peer review and quality control activities.
- Actively support business development through client outreach, industry events, and professional presentations.
- Coordinate with internal teams to meet project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- Maintain accurate job files, documentation, and records.
- Perform other duties consistent with a senior consulting role.
Requirements
- 10+ years relevant work experience.
- 5+ years in the forensic or equipment loss consulting field with demonstrated inspection and report experience.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Proven experience authoring defensible expert reports independently.
- Deposition and/or Testimony experience is preferred but not required.
- Professional or industry certifications or licensure preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
