Regional General Manager Airports

The Regional General Manager, Airports at WestJet provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across designated airports in Canada, ensuring safety, high-quality guest service, and operational performance through collaboration with service partners and stakeholders.

Location: Canada (Remote)

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to deliver safe operations.
• Lead and develop a team of Regional Managers.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement in operational performance and guest experience.
• Monitor operational performance, safety data, and risks.
• Serve as escalation point for complex operational issues.
• Partner with procurement for service partner strategies.
• Lead regional operational planning for demand, growth, and strategic initiatives.
• Champion innovation and data-driven improvements.
• Participate in the Airports Leadership Team to set priorities and develop initiatives.

Requirements

• 3+ years Airports leadership experience.
• Business leadership experience with internal and external dependencies.
• Strong business acumen including budget management.
• Ability to multitask and handle changing priorities.
• Confident in presenting to senior levels.
• Post-secondary education in business or related field (asset).
• Ability to manage multiple leaders and locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to travel and spend time away.
• Project management skills (asset).
• Knowledge of international regulations (asset).
• Proven ability to influence leadership teams.
• IATA SGHA experience (beneficial).
