Principal Product Manager, Public Sector - Remote

Akamai is seeking a Principal Product Manager for Public Sector to lead product strategy and collaborate with federal stakeholders in shaping next-generation government products within a cloud platform environment.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $159,600–$287,400/yr

Responsibilities

• Leading product strategy and roadmap development aligned with Public Sector requirements and market opportunities.
• Gathering and synthesizing requirements from government agencies and internal stakeholders to guide product development.
• Defining and tracking success metrics for new products and features from prototype through production deployment.
• Presenting product vision and updates to senior leadership and government stakeholders with compelling clarity.
• Building partnerships across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams while maintaining effective communication channels.

Requirements

• 10 years of product management expertise launching complex cloud/SaaS products.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar field.
• U.S. citizenship and a Secret security clearance or ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
• Experience supporting DoD, IC, or federal civilian agencies in cleared environments.
• Deep understanding of US Public Sector compliance frameworks, including FedRAMP and Cloud Impact Levels.
• Advanced technical knowledge in cloud computing, distributed systems, and cybersecurity.
• Ability to operate in a matrixed organization with clear communication and collaboration.
• Customer-centric mindset with problem-solving skills and commitment to continuous learning.
