Opex101: Scrum Master Jira

JerseySTEM is a mission-driven professional network of pro-bono contributors dedicated to improving access to STEM education and career pathways for underserved middle school girls in New Jersey. They are seeking a skilled Scrum Master to help implement and execute transformational organization outcomes.

Salary: Pro bono (unpaid) position

Responsibilities

• Attend the Scrum meeting of the team you will be supporting (weekly or daily).
• Create user stories to describe work items, with clear descriptions and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritize stories for the backlog and keep the team organized and focused.
• Conduct weekly meetings and monitor the health of the Kanban or Sprint board.
• Encourage team members to utilize JIRA for task management.
• Drive open communication with team members.
• Be the servant leader for the team members, mentoring/assisting them when needed.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and be “THE CHAMPION OF CHANGE”.

Requirements

• Experience using Jira, Kanban or Sprint Board, Slack
• Excellent communication, analytical, mentoring and problem-solving skills
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification preferred
