Site Reliability Engineer

SweetRush is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to build, maintain, and evolve software, infrastructure, and technologies that drive their products and services. The role involves automating systems for deployment, maintenance, and security, with a focus on performance, reliability, and security.

Location: Costa Rica, Remote

Responsibilities

• Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of servers with a focus on security.
• Provide installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems’ server-side software and related infrastructure, including monitoring and observability tools such as Amazon CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and AWS CloudTrail.
• Perform daily system monitoring, server resources, systems, and key processes.
• Resolve day-to-day operational issues, including desktop support for users.
• Ensure the stability and security of operational systems and maintain data integrity.
• Work with cutting-edge tools and systems to provide services.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Ubuntu server (Linux servers in general) and Bash scripting.
• Knowledge of SSH, Rsync, Bacula is helpful.
• Broad understanding of tools and technologies such as Git, Gitlab, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and Azure.
• Strong Linux system architecture experience.
• Familiarity with providing desktop support including web applications, Mac OS, Windows, and Ubuntu.
• Familiarity with server administration duties such as backup validation, security patching, log parsing, and IP management.
• Experience with security practices and protocols, including mitigation of hacking attempts.
• Self-directed and dependable.
