Mandarin Chinese Simplified Transcriber

This is a remote transcription project supporting the development of talk-to-text technology, requiring Mandarin Chinese Simplified language skills. The role involves listening to audio files and transcribing them accurately, following detailed guidelines.

Location: Remote, global

Salary: USD 1.95 per audio minute transcribed

Responsibilities

• Accurately transcribe a variety of files in accordance with client-specific Written Domain conventions (WDCs)
• Maintain a thorough understanding of each client’s guidelines, updating your knowledge as changes occur
• Produce high-quality, timely work for all assigned transcription projects
• Reference and apply current training materials and documentation as needed
• Identify and report technical issues or transcription concerns to the Division Services Manager
• Contribute ideas for improving workflows and transcription processes
• Participate in additional tasks or special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Native-level (C2) proficiency in Mandarin Chinese Simplified (cmn_hans_cn), including the ability to read and write
• Excellent grammar, orthography, and punctuation (assessment required)
• Have an Upwork profile or willingness to create one
• High-speed internet access
• Own a computer for the project
• Access to email
