Head of Communications

Marie Curie is the UK's leading end-of-life charity, providing community nursing, end-of-life care, and support on dying, death, and bereavement. They are committed to research, advocacy, and improving quality of life for those with serious illnesses.

Location: UK (homebased with occasional travel to London)

Salary: £58,500 - £65,000 depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage external communications aligned with organisational strategy and values.
• Collaborate across directorates and initiatives to ensure effective messaging.
• Lead crisis communications with response plans and key messages, in coordination with senior communications staff.
• Lead, guide, and develop the communications team.

Requirements

• Experience in a similar role with organisation-wide communication plan development and delivery.
• Proven track record in leading major communication campaigns, including change communications.
• Experience managing, leading, and developing a team.
• Experience working in a complex organisation, aligning different departments.
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to develop relationships and influence at all levels.
• Strong project management skills, with experience managing campaigns, projects, and products to organisational objectives.
