Business Development Manager

Apera AI is a Vancouver-based startup specializing in robotics, AI, and machine vision technologies, providing 4D Vision solutions for manufacturing automation. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth, expand into new markets, and build strategic partnerships.

Location: Remote (US, Alabama or nearby states)

Salary: $90,000–$110,000 USD base, $175,000–$210,000 USD OTE

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying and closing new business opportunities in manufacturing automation.
  • Work with OEMs, integrators, end users, and distribution partners to uncover use cases for Apera’s 4D Vision technology.
  • Leverage AI-powered Sales Tech Stack to improve prospecting, qualify opportunities, and shorten sales cycles.
  • Generate a pipeline of qualified leads and close high-value deals within the first 6–12 months.
  • Expand business within existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling.
  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies and build partnerships.
  • Complete market analysis and develop data-backed insights.
  • Partner with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions.
  • Oversee project management for major sales wins.
  • Lead market expansion initiatives and track ROI.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and cultivate long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of success in technical sales, preferably in manufacturing or automation environments.
  • Experience selling robotics, machine vision, or complex automation systems.
  • Strong and consistent track record of exceeding quota.
  • Self-directed, curious, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
  • Background in engineering or technical sales (degree preferred, but not required).
  • Excellent communication skills with engineers and operations leaders.
