Business Development Manager

Apera AI is a Vancouver-based startup specializing in robotics, AI, and machine vision technologies, providing 4D Vision solutions for manufacturing automation. They are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth, expand into new markets, and build strategic partnerships.
Location: Remote (US, Alabama or nearby states)
Salary: $90,000–$110,000 USD base, $175,000–$210,000 USD OTE
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and closing new business opportunities in manufacturing automation.
- Work with OEMs, integrators, end users, and distribution partners to uncover use cases for Apera’s 4D Vision technology.
- Leverage AI-powered Sales Tech Stack to improve prospecting, qualify opportunities, and shorten sales cycles.
- Generate a pipeline of qualified leads and close high-value deals within the first 6–12 months.
- Expand business within existing accounts through upselling and cross-selling.
- Design and implement go-to-market strategies and build partnerships.
- Complete market analysis and develop data-backed insights.
- Partner with technical teams to deliver tailored solutions.
- Oversee project management for major sales wins.
- Lead market expansion initiatives and track ROI.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and cultivate long-term relationships.
Requirements
- 4+ years of success in technical sales, preferably in manufacturing or automation environments.
- Experience selling robotics, machine vision, or complex automation systems.
- Strong and consistent track record of exceeding quota.
- Self-directed, curious, and able to thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Background in engineering or technical sales (degree preferred, but not required).
- Excellent communication skills with engineers and operations leaders.
