One Identity is seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead the global tax function for their mid-market software company, overseeing tax strategy, compliance, planning, and reporting across multiple jurisdictions. The role requires deep expertise in U.S. and international tax, especially within SaaS/software business models.

Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the company’s global tax strategy to support business objectives, international expansion, and operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic tax guidance to executive leadership on corporate structure, product strategy, transfer pricing, cross-border operations, and emerging tax regulations.
- Evaluate tax impacts related to mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and new market entry.
- Oversee timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and international income and indirect tax returns.
- Manage global VAT/GST/sales tax obligations, including nexus analysis, registration decisions, and ongoing compliance.
- Ensure documentation and processes align with global tax requirements and internal control expectations.
- Lead quarterly and annual tax provision processes under ASC 740.
- Coordinate with Accounting to ensure accurate tax disclosures in financial statements and audit materials.
- Maintain strong internal controls and SOX-compliant processes (as applicable).
- Design, implement, and maintain global transfer pricing policies aligned with business operations.
- Oversee preparation of transfer pricing documentation and defend methodologies as needed.
- Collaborate with global finance teams to ensure consistent and compliant tax practices across regions.
- Manage federal, state, and foreign tax audits, notices, and inquiries.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate business impacts, communicating relevant updates to executive leadership.
- Assess and implement tax technology tools to improve accuracy, automation, and scalability.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing tax team or network of external advisors.
- Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, HR, and business units to support tax-efficient decision-making.
- Champion tax awareness across the organization and support cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, including significant exposure to international tax.
- Expertise in U.S. federal and state tax, ASC 740, and multinational tax considerations.
- Experience in the SaaS or software industry or other complex, IP-driven business models.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
