Sr. Backend Developer - AI First / Fintech (Ops & B2B)

Retorna is a fintech specializing in cross-border money transfers and payments, operating fully remotely across more than 10 countries, moving millions of dollars monthly for migrant communities.

Location: Remote (LATAM or Spain)

Salary: Up to $4,000 USD/month, depending on experience

Responsibilities

• Ensure transaction execution with accuracy, traceability, and compliance in the Ops team.
• Build integrations and capabilities for cross-border payments via API in the B2B team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend experience with real code.
• Solid Node.js + TypeScript skills for high-criticality backend.
• Experience with AWS in production (Lambda, SQS, SNS, Fargate).
• Experience deploying real AI systems (autonomous agents, RAG pipelines, LLMs with guardrails).
• Experience designing systems where errors have financial consequences.
• Ability to build fail-safe systems and know when to escalate to humans.
