Senior Solutions Architect

Join Akamai's Application & API Security team as a Senior Solution Architect, working directly with large enterprises to design, integrate, and optimize security solutions across cloud, Kubernetes, networking, and API infrastructures. This highly technical role involves strategic architectural exposure and hands-on deployment of API Security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Integrating and leading the deployment of the API Security Platform across enterprise ecosystems.
• Resolving deployment issues across Kubernetes, virtual appliances, cloud infrastructure, networking, API gateways, authentication flows, hybrid architectures, and distributed applications.
• Partnering with customer engineering, DevOps, cloud, networking, or security teams to deploy and operationalize Akamai API Security Platform.
• Analyzing API traffic to identify misconfigurations, authentication gaps, performance bottlenecks.
• Supporting configuration of traffic sources for API gateways and platforms such as F5, Citrix, Apigee, Kong, NGINX, or MuleSoft.
• Developing enterprise architecture diagrams, integration patterns, deployment plans, and operational runbooks.
• Leading customer workshops, technical enablement sessions, and architectural reviews.

Requirements

• Adequate role-experience and customer-facing skills.
• Extensive experience in architecting IaaS solutions, with professional certifications from AWS/GCP/Azure/Oracle and/or CNCF.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed cloud-native applications and debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
• Experience with containerized environments like Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, or traditional enterprise infrastructure systems such as Linux and VMware/OVA.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms and IaC tools, understanding networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S.
• Understanding of modern API technologies like RESTful APIs, OAuth/JWT, API authentication, and authorization; configuring API gateways, ingress controllers, or WAF/WAAP.
