Senior Project Manager - Drinking Water

Apex is seeking a Senior Project Manager for their Drinking Water Division to lead water system design projects, including treatment plants, pump stations, and water distribution systems. The role involves technical leadership, project management, client interaction, and business development, with a focus on the water sector.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $155,000—$185,000 USD

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct technical staff and Project Managers on multiple projects.
• Demonstrate leadership in project execution, client interactions, and business development.
• Lead construction administration tasks including meetings, submittal reviews, and project closeout.
• Assist in training, mentorship, and technical development of staff.
• Consult on technical issues and perform QA/QC reviews.
• Identify and mitigate project risks.
• Oversee technical accuracy and compliance.
• Make technical presentations to clients and at public meetings.
• Lead projects from development through completion, including scope, schedule, and budget.
• Act as a Public Relations Ambassador.
• Solicit new clients and projects, participate in proposal development.
• Prepare proposals, participate in interviews, and develop fee proposals.
• Participate in professional associations and conferences.
• Prepare contracts and negotiate project fees.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of related experience, with at least 8 years in drinking water.
• Professional engineering license.
• Relevant project management experience.
• Experience in consulting engineering industry.
• Strong experience with local clients and regulatory agencies.
• Ability to work in the field and office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Additional Information

• Annual pay range: $155,000—$185,000 USD.
