Senior Data Engineer

Press Ganey is seeking a Senior Data Engineer with strong data architecture experience to design, develop, and support solutions for transporting, storing, and analyzing analytical data, primarily in healthcare. The role involves evolving enterprise data strategy and capabilities.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $100,000–$120,000/yr

Responsibilities

• Create data architecture, pipelines, and analytical solutions for healthcare products.
• Identify, evaluate, select, and prove out new technologies and toolsets.
• Create and execute Proofs of Concept and Proofs of Technology.
• Lead and direct the work of others in data dependent projects.
• Collaborate with teams to establish data storage, pipeline, and structure requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks (PySpark, Delta Lake, SQL).
• Implement Data Lakehouse architecture leveraging Databricks Unity Catalog, Delta Live Tables, and Workflows.
• Build and optimize data ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
• Identify and plan for data storage performance requirements.
• Optimize Databricks clusters, jobs, and queries.
• Collaborate on application interface and data storage implementation.
• Identify impact of implementation on other applications and databases.
• Lead and mentor data engineers.
• Implement CI/CD for data pipelines using Git, Databricks Repos, and DevOps tools.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and security compliance.
• Build and evolve Trusted Record systems for entity management.
• Design, implement, and evolve solutions around person identity management.
• Develop and enforce data governance, lineage, and cataloging standards.
• Mentor data engineers, providing training and guidance.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data technologies, on-premises Microsoft tools, and familiarity with AWS.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Spark, C#, PowerShell, APIs.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong understanding of data modeling, schema design, and ETL best practices.
• Experience with data lineage, cataloging, and metadata management.
• Knowledge of version control and DevOps practices.
• Minimum 5 years of enterprise Data Engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in technology or related field.
