Senior Construction Engineer

Lumen is seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to oversee the delivery of telecommunications networks across multiple locations, managing vendor engagement and project execution.

Location: Multiple states in the US (see salary ranges by state)

Salary: $84,629 - $124,122 (location-based pay ranges)

Responsibilities

• Define and review comprehensive project plans including delivery, resource requirements, costs, schedule, risk mitigation, budget, team structure, governance, and forecasting.
• Lead cross-functional teams including internal staff, contractors, and engineering firms to execute large projects.
• Drive vendors to complete projects on time, prioritize workload, and meet internal schedules.
• Lead solution deployment covering network architecture, construction methodologies, material handling, installation, acceptance, and hand-over activities.
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, schedule, and budget, establishing team structure, reporting, and performance metrics.
• Motivate and lead teams of engineers, construction managers, contractors, and consultants to successful project completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of OSP Engineering standards, practices, and construction including trenching, fiber pulling, aerial and underground construction.
• Experience with civil engineering and site development.
• Experience with full lifecycle of OSP and civil projects: estimating, engineering, permitting, construction.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and mapping programs.
• Positive, professional attitude.
• Experience in customer relationship management.
• Ability to build strong relationships with peers and operational managers.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent organizational, prioritization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in OSP operations, administration, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Fiber Network Management principles.
