Safety Officer

Buckeye is a leading infrastructure and logistics provider for the energy sector, focusing on safe, responsible, and innovative solutions including decarbonization efforts. They are seeking a Safety Officer for their Bahamas Hub to ensure safety and emergency response readiness.

Location: Bahamas

Responsibilities

• Monitor job sites and correct unsafe acts or conditions, report near misses.
• Perform duties of shift safety officer.
• Patrol property, investigate hazardous conditions.
• Act as traffic control within the terminal.
• Maintain emergency response equipment and certifications.
• Inspect safety and firefighting equipment.
• Assist in training firefighting crew.
• Drive fire trucks and operate emergency equipment.
• Maintain safety records and logs.
• Perform fit testing for personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of safety policies, procedures, and equipment in oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to health, safety, security, and emergency response.
• Ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information

• Safety, Security or Industrial Hygiene certifications are helpful.
• Strong leadership, motivation, and communication skills required.
• Ability to work in hazardous environments and adverse weather conditions.
• Physical activities include climbing, lifting, and handling materials.
• Must comply with all safety and personnel policies.
