Remote PK/PD Systems Biology Benchmark Consultant

Specialised part-time consulting opportunity for professionals experienced in PK/PD modeling, systems biology, and scientific software evaluation, focusing on problem design, validation, and workflow development.

Location: Remote

Salary: $60–90/hr

Responsibilities

• Design original graduate-level computational problems in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and systems biology workflows.
• Create tasks involving compartmental modeling, enzyme kinetics, systems biology simulations, and scientific software use.
• Develop problems with precise outputs from computational setups.
• Design tasks testing strategic reasoning, experimental planning, and interpretation of simulation outputs.
• Work with libRoadRunner, Tellurium, SBML-based tools, or related scientific software.
• Design problems involving compartmental PK/PD modeling, enzyme kinetics, pathway simulations, and systems biology model behavior.
• Evaluate simulation setup, parameter reasoning, model interpretation, and workflow correctness.
• Identify edge cases, software limitations, model sensitivity issues, or reasoning traps.
• Write Python problem setups, oracle functions, and solution validators.
• Refine tasks through calibration feedback.
• Evaluate whether tasks require scientific reasoning.
• Maintain technical accuracy, reproducibility, and clear documentation.

Requirements

• Graduate-level expertise in pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, systems biology, computational biology, bioengineering, pharmacology, or related STEM field.
• MS, PhD, or equivalent research experience.
• Hands-on experience with libRoadRunner, Tellurium, SBML-based tools, or similar scientific software.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Ability to design difficult problems based on reasoning strategy.
• Comfort working independently and iterating on problem designs.
• Ability to work in Linux, terminal environments, or remote compute sandboxes.
