Professional Fee Coder

The role involves medical coding, specifically abstracting professional fee diagnosis and procedural codes from physician documentation, in collaboration with various departments. The coder may also handle account issues in EPIC and work within compliance guidelines.

Salary: $29.16 - $43.73 per hour

Responsibilities

• Abstract relevant, accurate, and timely professional fee diagnosis and procedural codes from physician documentation.
• Collaborate with compliance, clinical departments, physicians, and revenue cycle team members.
• Work on account problems in EPIC.

Requirements

• Completion of credentialed Professional Fee Coding Course.
• Minimum of two years experience in medical coding or related experience.

Additional Information

• Certification as a CPC-A, CPC, or specialty AAPC coding certification required, or CCS-P through AHIMA.
• Preferred: AHIMA: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCS-P; AAPC certifications such as CPC, COC, CIC, CRC, CPMA, or CPCO.
• Experience in a Pediatric setting preferred.
• Compensation varies depending on location and other factors.
