The Patient Financial Advocate at Cleveland Clinic assists patients with navigating their financial responsibilities, especially when uninsured or insurance is not accepted. Location: Cleveland
Responsibilities
- Counsel patients regarding insurance benefits and payment options.
- Contact insurance carriers and advocate for patients.
- Initiate and follow up on collection processes.
- Identify and resolve issues related to registration, billing, insurance, and governmental requirements.
- Update and document in computer systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of customer-facing experience, or
- Associate’s Degree and 2 years of experience, or
- Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year of experience.
Additional Information
- Caregivers work remotely in Northeast Ohio from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Must reside locally in Northeast Ohio.
- Preferred qualifications include associate’s or bachelor’s degree, experience with Epic and Cisco Systems, and ability to manage sensitive financial conversations.
- Physical requirements include dexterity, sitting for prolonged periods, and normal or corrected vision.
- Follows standard PPE precautions.
