This is an online volunteering assignment supporting the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in monitoring news and social media related to migration issues in Venezuela. It is a short-term, task-based, remote role aimed at enhancing communication and risk management strategies.

Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily national, regional, and international media and social media for news, trends, and mentions related to migration, protection, governance, health, WASH, and IOM activities in Venezuela.
• Prepare a daily bulletin with headlines, summaries, and links to identified news articles.
• Monitor social media daily, focusing on mentions of IOM, migration topics, protection, and related trends.
• Provide immediate alerts on critical issues related to mobility, protection risks, or sensitive mentions of IOM.

Requirements

• Experience or background in communication, journalism, data analysis, social sciences, or related fields.
• Ability to identify relevant information and produce clear summaries.
• Proficiency with digital monitoring tools, social media, and information verification.
• Skill in using keywords and thematic classification methodologies.
• Advanced Spanish (mandatory).
