MD Mentor (Part-Time)

Prepory is a college admissions counseling organization that guides high school students through their college application process, focusing on holistic and innovative approaches. They are seeking dedicated college admissions coaches to support students in their journey to top colleges.

Location: Remote

Salary: Starting at $30/hr

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Prepory’s Admissions Coaches to align on students’ progress and set milestones for application strategies.
• Conduct one-on-one advising sessions via Zoom with students to provide tailored support.
• Manage a cohort of medical school applicants.
• Support a minimum of five applicants each application cycle.
• Conduct research to support advising sessions and clarify inquiries.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on admissions issues.
• Support interview preparation, including mock interviews.
• Participate in regular meetings with Admissions Coaches and the cohort of graduate admissions coaches.
• Maintain communication with the Program Director and Director of Client Success.

Requirements

• Graduated from top-ranked undergraduate institution (e.g., top 50 universities or top 20 liberal arts colleges).
• Currently enrolled in or graduate of a U.S. medical school.
• In-depth knowledge of the U.S. medical school admissions process, including AMCAS/AACOMAS, secondary applications, MCAT, interview formats, and holistic review practices.
• Experience in medical school admissions or pre-med advising, medical education, or health professions advising.
• Familiarity with U.S. undergraduate and medical education landscape, pre-med advising, and pipeline programs.
• Ability to support multiple students throughout an entire application cycle.
• Availability during after-school hours and weekends, with flexibility for international time zones.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
