Hospital Inpatient Coder VI (1.0 D)

The Hospital Inpatient Coder VI Specialist analyzes ICD 10 codes, reviews medical records, and collaborates with clinical staff to ensure accurate coding and data abstraction for hospital inpatient services. The role involves remote work, coding accuracy, and participation in performance improvement initiatives.

Location: Remote (Indiana)

Salary: $22.70–$33.77/hr

Responsibilities

• Review and code patient records in hospital acute inpatient services.
• Meet coding accuracy and production standards.
• Review and analyze medical records to assign ICD, CPT codes, and modifiers.
• Notify leadership of trends and provide feedback to physicians and departments.
• Identify and enter data elements for abstraction.
• Participate in performance improvement teams, projects, and committees.
• Serve as a Superuser and assist with system testing.
• Serve as a backup to coding reimbursement specialist.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED (Required)
• 2 years Coding experience (Required)
• CCS certification from AHIMA (Required)
• Associate's degree (Preferred)
• RHIT or RHIA certification (Preferred)
