Head of Governance & Portfolio Management

The role is for a Head of Governance & Portfolio Management responsible for establishing and leading governance, portfolio management, and risk practices across Engineering, InfoSec, Platforms, and Operations. It involves building and leading a global team, ensuring disciplined decision-making, and embedding strong governance and risk management into organizational processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the Governance & Portfolio Management department, including governance, PMO, and risk management capabilities.
• Define organizational structure, roles, and responsibilities to support scalable governance maturity.
• Coach, develop, and mentor team members fostering a culture of accountability and clarity.
• Set objectives, priorities, and performance expectations for the team.
• Promote collaboration and trusted partnerships with cross-functional teams.
• Evolve governance capabilities to support organizational growth.

Requirements

• 8–15 years’ experience in IT, technology, programme leadership, governance or operational excellence roles.
• Experience leading and aligning distributed teams across geographies and cultures.
• Experience managing international teams and operating across multiple regions.
• Leading cross-functional programmes or portfolio oversight experience.
• Designing and implementing governance frameworks.
• Leading teams or organizational capabilities in governance, PMO, programme leadership, or operational excellence.
• Strong understanding of risk management and control environments (e.g., ISO practices).
• Experience with audit, certification lifecycle, or structured management systems.
• Ability to prepare executive materials and facilitate governance forums.
• Strong stakeholder management skills.
