Director, Accounting

The Director of Accounting at Second Sight Solutions, a health technology company and subsidiary of Berkeley Research Group, is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and driving financial performance.

Location: United States

Salary: $160,000 - $180,000

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements, and partner with FP&A Manager to ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely
• Own management of cash balances and any potential lines of credit
• Partner with FP&A manager on forecasting of cash needs
• Completion of annual audit and coordination with auditors on technical matters
• Supervise tax consultants in maintaining partnership accounts, K-1s, partner communications and managing partnership filings/compliance and sales & usage tax filings
• Liaison with corporate tax team of parent to transition preparation of income tax provision and other tax related entries for GAAP accounting
• Manage the processing of all accounts payables and receivables, including application of cash receipts
• Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Partner with VP – Finance and FP&A Manager to provide financial guidance and support to department heads, and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting and finance preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and federal and state tax laws
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
