Data Governance & Security Engineer

Location: Germany

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Data Governance strategies and policies.
• Identify risks and weaknesses in the client's Data Governance environment based on process and IT landscape analysis.
• Ensure compliance of data processes and procedures with regulatory requirements.
• Create security concepts using knowledge of database technologies and modeling techniques to support clients and realize governance-specific requirements.
• Lead projects independently, coordinating with architects, departments, and decision-makers to ensure successful implementation.
• Maintain active communication with clients, project teams, and the internal team to ensure project success and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in developing and implementing governance and security strategies.
• Deep understanding of data security requirements and experience in creating security concepts and risk assessments.
• Knowledge of various data storage technologies (SQL databases, Data Lakes, Data Lakehouses, Document, Node databases).
• Advanced knowledge of Data Management Frameworks like DMBoK (DAMA) or Cobit 5.
• Basic understanding of different data structures (relational, JSON, XML) and appropriate storage models (3NF, Data Vault, Star Schema).
• Comprehensive understanding of compliance requirements and security standards.
• Certifications in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or IT security are advantageous.
• Experience working with stakeholders at various levels.
• Enjoyment in supporting colleagues and fostering diversity.
• Fluent German and very good English skills.
