Bilingual Accountant / Billing Accounting Officer - New York Remote

The role involves providing expert guidance, tax preparation, and explanations of tax and technical terms to customers, with opportunities to shape new product offerings. It requires experienced tax preparers with relevant credentials and a focus on customer service.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $40k–$45k

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state business tax returns (1065 and/or 1120-S) for at least 20 clients per season using commercial tax software.
• Provide expert guidance and explanations of tax and technical terms to customers.
• Shape the direction of TurboTax Live Business product.

Requirements

• 3+ years of recent experience preparing federal and state business tax returns for at least 20 clients per season.
• Active unrestricted credential: EA, CPA, or Practicing Attorney.
• Minimum of 2 seasons of personal tax preparation experience, with at least 30 returns per year.
• Bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing business tax returns for service industry customers is strongly preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain state licenses, certificates, permits, or bonds.
• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
• Commitment to at least 20 hours/week during tax season.
• Working knowledge of Circular 230.
• Proficient with technology and software.
• Strong customer service skills, professional communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to obtain a dedicated internet connection and work in a quiet location.
