Associate Software Engineer

We're looking for an Associate Software Engineer with Shopify expertise to own and evolve impact.com's Shopify integration, connecting thousands of merchants to our ecosystem.

Location: South Africa

Responsibilities

• Own the development and evolution of Shopify integration, including Apps, Web Pixels, and platform extensions.
• Build reliable, privacy-compliant solutions that capture conversions, refunds, and customer events.
• Adapt to Shopify's evolving platform capabilities.

Requirements

• Built production Shopify Apps, integrations or platform extensions.
• Understand the Shopify ecosystem beyond storefront development.
• Experience building integrations between complex SaaS platforms.
• Comfortable working with REST and GraphQL APIs, OAuth, Webhooks, Rate limiting, Background processing, High-volume event pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining production backend services.
• Ruby on Rails experience is preferred, but experience with Node.js, Python, PHP, or Java is also acceptable.
