Account Director

The Account Director role at Williams Lea involves managing large-scale legal client engagements, overseeing multiple service contracts, and driving business growth and service excellence. The position requires strategic leadership, financial management, and client relationship skills.

Location: Remote (must be based in the UK) with frequent travel to London

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum DOE, plus company benefits

Responsibilities

  • Maintain governance for management of commercial, contractual, and risk matters.
  • Engage with clients to understand their business priorities and offer transformational solutions.
  • Be a member of the WL EMEA Legal senior management team, sharing responsibility for development and targets.
  • Manage client relationships proactively, exceeding expectations.
  • Resolve client issues and communicate significant issues to the Business Director.
  • Develop networks among senior decision-makers.
  • Develop strategies for business opportunities and communicate them to clients.
  • Manage financial performance of client portfolios, including P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiations.
  • Participate in business expansion proposals and support growth objectives.
  • Lead operational involvement in sales and new contract implementation.
  • Review operational issues and improve client metrics.
  • Manage staffing, resources, and relationships with vendors and support departments.
  • Work closely with management and staff at all levels, managing HR matters and succession planning.

Requirements

  • At least five years of experience with large-scale legal client engagements.
  • Proven track record in delivering business growth in the legal industry.
  • Strong operational understanding and strategic decision-making skills.
  • Experience in financial management, including P&L, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage teams.
  • Knowledge of the legal sector and client relationship management.
  • Ability to develop complex multi-service solutions.
  • Commercial acumen and ability to identify new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influence skills.

Additional Information

  • The role is full-time, permanent, with shifts of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm.
  • The candidate must be based in the UK and willing to travel to London.
