2026 Fall Government Affairs Climate Intern

This is a voluntary, unpaid internship supporting Our Children's Trust's legal and advocacy efforts in Washington, DC, focused on climate justice and legal cases against the federal government.

Responsibilities
- Assist in advancing OCT's legal campaign for science-based climate recovery policies at all levels of the federal government.
- Correspond and educate members of Congress and their staff on the impacts of the climate crisis and the need for a climate recovery plan.
- Secure cosponsors for congressional resolutions recognizing children's rights to a stable climate.
- Track and analyze legislation, hearings, and political landscape.
- Assist in garnering support for amicus curiae briefs.
- Identify and engage with administrative officials and support OCT's advocacy efforts.
- Build relationships with diverse allies and organizations.
- Track tasks and brief supervisors on progress.
- Attend stakeholder meetings and take notes.
- Create a diverse movement by networking with diverse communities and leaders.
- Support career development discussions.
Requirements
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
- Responsive, independent, proactive, flexible, and creative thinking.
- Previous political campaign experience is a plus.
