Staff ML AI Platform Engineer

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $200,000–$245,000/yr plus performance bonus

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype and productionize scalable AI/machine learning models
• Set up best practices in machine learning and guide the ML platform
• Develop frameworks, pipelines, libraries, utilities, and tools for processing large data for ML tasks
• Troubleshoot and optimize complex ML pipelines with ML engineers and data scientists
• Collaborate with product managers and business partners to gather requirements for ML models
• Build model deployment platforms to simplify implementation of new models
• Create end-to-end reusable pipelines from data acquisition to model output
• Mentor and guide junior data scientists in deploying models into production
• Design and build ML solutions to unlock new ML modeling capabilities

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in machine learning platform systems
• Experience with autoscaling and load balancing
• Solid understanding of distributed computing
• Experience integrating AI/ML models in production
• Strong background in shell or bash scripting
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with AWS Lambda, ECS, ECR, Sagemaker or other cloud platforms
• Experience with production deployments on AWS Lambda, Fargate, EMR, or Airflow
• Experience with Docker for development environment and deployments
• Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including OOP, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience in writing data pipelines and ML libraries
• Willingness to learn new technologies and mentor junior engineers
• Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-paced, agile environment

Additional Information

• Base salary range: $200,000 - $245,000 plus performance bonus
