Software Engineer II

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $95,000–$171,000/yr

Responsibilities

• Analyzing, designing, and implementing systems software to improve functionality, accuracy, reliability, and performance of the mapping system
• Evolving complex algorithms to respond to unpredictable traffic patterns on the global Internet
• Improving scalability, robustness, and ease of use of software systems for testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
• Becoming a subject matter expert for our systems, explaining and improving software, and assisting with troubleshooting
• Measuring, assessing, and tuning the effects of global control systems

Requirements

• 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Solid experience working in C/C++ or another object-oriented language
• Experience developing, analyzing, or improving algorithms
• Comfortable solving complex technical problems collaboratively
• Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies
• Familiar with Linux operating system and scripting languages (e.g., Python, shell, perl)
