Location: Remote (United States; BC & ON, Canada)

Salary: USD 194,000 - 285,000 /yr depending on geographic zone

Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive research initiatives in computer vision, multimodal understanding, and visual generation.
  • Develop models, algorithms, and training methodologies for vision problems such as image understanding, video understanding, visual search, scene representation, segmentation, detection, generation, and multimodal reasoning.
  • Translate research into practical model improvements to shape product direction and user experiences.
  • Design, implement, train, and optimize large-scale vision and multimodal foundation models across datasets and tasks.
  • Partner with scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to move research from exploration to production.
  • Set technical direction for research areas, identify promising strategies, and influence long-term vision and multimodal AI strategy.
  • Mentor scientists and engineers, raise research quality, and foster a scientific culture.
  • Stay at the forefront of research in computer vision, multimodal learning, generative modeling, and foundation models, applying emerging techniques to real-world problems.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in computer vision, representation learning, visual recognition, image/video generation, multimodal learning, and large-scale model training.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or related field; PhD preferred.
  • 8+ years of industry/research experience in computer vision or multimodal machine learning.
  • Experience with vision and multimodal model architectures, including transformers, diffusion models, contrastive learning, and foundation models.
  • Ability to formulate research problems, design experiments, and translate findings into model or product advances.
  • Strong coding skills in Python, with experience in PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Technical leadership experience, including mentoring and influencing research direction.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting complex research to technical and cross-functional audiences.
