Senior Online Engineer

Disney Digital Entertainment is seeking talented individuals passionate about pushing the boundaries of scalable systems that power unforgettable experiences. You’ll design and optimize high-performance platforms. As a Senior Online Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining high-performance, scalable software platforms, designing and implementing robust infrastructure solutions, and creating APIs to meet data needs. You will work on high-volume, transactional systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and high load capacity. You will collaborate with teams, mentor engineers, and contribute to technical improvements, all within Disney's values of Integrity, Inclusion, Creativity, Collaboration, and Community.

Location: Remote (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway)

Responsibilities

• Build scalable online systems, including designing and maintaining APIs and backend services.
• Ensure system performance under heavy load, low latency, high availability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and external partners; mentor junior team members.
• Identify potential issues early and develop practical solutions.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in building and maintaining complex online systems at scale.
• Technical leadership in high-performance server development and API design.
• Experience with any programming language; experience in Go is a plus.
