Senior Manager, Center of Expertise

Veeam is seeking a Senior Manager, Center of Expertise to lead a team of product and domain experts in data protection, cloud infrastructure, and AI-driven operations. The role involves strategic customer engagements, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to drive measurable outcomes and industry-standard excellence.

Salary: $149,600–$277,700

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 6–10 Domain Engineering Specialists, focusing on their growth and technical coaching.
• Define and execute the team’s technical enablement roadmap, emphasizing AI/ML, cloud-native architectures, and cyber resilience.
• Own involvement in complex customer onboardings, including multi-environment migrations and resilience deployments.
• Coach specialists in ransomware recovery, immutable storage, multi-cloud data protection, and Kubernetes-native backup.
• Build and scale a content and resource hub for technical resources, playbooks, and enablement content.
• Develop and run customer engagement programs like webinars, workshops, and executive briefings.
• Establish the team as a credible technical authority in customer and stakeholder conversations.
• Drive process improvements and operational KPIs to scale impact.
• Influence product and engineering roadmaps with field insights.
• Build cross-functional relationships with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex customer situations.
• Model and reinforce a high-performance, curious, and ownership-driven culture.

Requirements

• 8+ years in technical customer success, solutions engineering, or related roles, preferably in enterprise SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or data management.
• 4+ years of people management experience in high-performing technical teams.
• Deep expertise in data protection and cyber resilience, including ransomware recovery, immutability, and enterprise-scale backup.
• Hands-on familiarity with AI/ML concepts and operationalization, including data pipelines, model training, and LLMOps.
• Strong knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native patterns like Kubernetes, containers, serverless, and IaC.
• Fluency in infrastructure concepts such as hybrid cloud, software-defined storage, disaster recovery as code, and observability.
• Ability to engage in security frameworks discussions (Zero Trust, NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA, FedRAMP).
• Experience leading large-scale customer onboardings with multiple stakeholders and complex environments.
• Proven ability to build scalable content programs and technical resource hubs.
• Leadership skills to guide teams through ambiguity in fast-growth environments.
• Strong executive communication skills for risk and technical narratives.
• Data-driven decision-making skills for coaching and team performance.
• High agency, adaptable, and capable of setting direction independently.
