Senior Lead Software Engineer II

Akamai is seeking a Senior Lead Software Engineer II to lead a team developing advanced security solutions within the Zero Trust Security Group, focusing on cloud-native and edge solutions for government and defense customers, adhering to FedRAMP standards.

Location: Remote (US)

Salary: $146,400–$263,600/yr

Responsibilities

• Developing new products and enhancing Zero Trust solutions with new features
• Designing, developing, validating, maintaining, releasing, and operating NodeJS, Python and/or GoLang based backend services
• Reviewing and maintaining technical documents related to requirements, design, and architecture
• Taking full ownership of areas of work from design to deployment
• Participating in technical meetings and bringing innovation into solutions
• Tackling and resolving difficult problems

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with a degree in MTech/ME/BTech/BE in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience with modern authorization mechanisms and identity management concepts
• Experience in writing backend applications using Python / GoLang or similar
• Good understanding of microservices architecture, scalable architectures, and RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, caching mechanisms, and service communications
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with cloud platforms like Azure/AWS/GCP or other high scale systems
• Eligibility to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
