Senior EDA Tools and Systems Support Engineer

Cisco's Common Hardware Group (CHG) is seeking a Senior EDA Tools Support Engineer to maintain and optimize the Electronic Design Automation environment, supporting hardware design teams working on high-performance silicon ASICs for global networks.

Salary: $152,400–$221,800

Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support for ECAD tools, focusing on schematic capture and PCB layout workflows.
• Develop and maintain scripts to automate design tasks and streamline workflows.
• Manage and maintain Linux-based EDA environments; support Windows-based workstations.
• Manage EDA license servers, monitor usage, and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate tool upgrades, patches, validation, and user training.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and user guides.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering + 6 years of related experience, or Masters + 3 years, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in EDA/CAD engineering or support, including 3+ years with ECAD tools like Cadence Allegro or similar.
• Experience with Linux environments, troubleshooting, and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, TCL, Skill.
• Experience using AI tools for code and documentation support.
• Availability to work outside regular hours and on weekends as needed.
