Renewables Project Development Manager / Project Developer – Remote

This role is for a Project Development Manager / Project Developer specializing in renewables and energy storage, focusing on utility-scale projects in Canada. The candidate will lead project development, land negotiations, and stakeholder engagement.

Location: Remote (Canada)

Responsibilities

• Lead identification, research, prospecting, and site land opportunities for utility-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects through community efforts.
• Manage initiatives related to site acquisition, financing, and development of renewable energy and energy storage projects, including RFP responses.
• Drive negotiations with landowners on site control agreements for renewable and energy storage projects.
• Take ownership of development activities for projects in the portfolio, focusing on tax abatement, permitting, and environmental compliance.

Requirements

• 4-5+ years of experience in utility-scale renewable energy, energy storage, battery storage, LNG, and/or natural gas with IPPs / Developers / Owners.
• Team and commercial management experience in utility-scale renewable energy project development.
• Hands-on experience with real estate transactions and contracts in renewables, natural gas, LNG, or energy storage.
• Understanding of RFP / RFI processes related to project development.
• Experience with project siting, permitting, prospecting, and due diligence for solar, wind, and battery storage projects.
• Experience with site prospecting, land negotiations, and project financing support.
• Exposure to energy storage, battery storage, or solar + storage projects is a plus.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
